NHS - Member Obligations
National Honor Society
Matteos Ferrahian Chapter
Membership in the National Honor Society (NHS) is one of the highest honors that can be awarded to a high school student. Our chapter strives to give practical meaning to the Society’s standards of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. These four ideals are considered as the basis for selection and membership.
Membership, however, is more than an honor. It is an ongoing responsibility and an obligation to continue to demonstrate those outstanding qualities that result in a student’s selection.
Once a member, students are required to:
- Maintain a 3.95 GPA each semester
- Maintain good character.
- Attend chapter meetings (there will be 4 per year)
- Take part in chapter service projects. Members will be required to fulfill 4 school service hours and 12 community service hours each year.
Failure to adhere to these requirements will lead to dismissal.
